New York State Troopers Want Assault Rifles

Last January, Darrel O. Brown brought terror to a strip of I-90 near Albany as he used a modified AK-47 to shoot at State Police officers who had tried to pull him over. Based on that incident a lone seems like a good reason to have the rifles available. According to the local news paper the troopers took forty minutes to get someone with a rifle out there to stop the threat.
